The "One Wire driver not installed" error can be caused by three reasons:
- The drivers are not installed.
- There are two instances of the eziKey Management Tool open.
- A Windows update has overwritten the required version of vjredist64.exe.
1. Check if the drivers are installed:
Open Control Panel -> Programs & Features (Windows 7) or Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps (Windows 10/11).
Verify if the One Wire Drivers are installed. If they are not, you can find them in the Release folder.
2. Ensure only one instance of the eziKey Management Tool is running:
The first instance of the management tool will capture the FOB reader. If a second instance is opened, it will not be able to capture the FOB reader as the first instance already has control. Attempting to read the FOB using the second instance will fail.
Close both instances of the management tool, then open the management tool again and try to read the FOB.
3. Repair the vjredist64.exe file:
Sometimes Windows updates can affect the vjredist64.exe file. To fix this, you can run a repair on the file.
Locate vjredist64.exe on the client’s computer (or copy it from the Release folder). Double-click the file to run it and select Repair.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the "One Wire driver not installed" error.
